Description
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in a Surgical Intensive Care Unit to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to provide high-quality care for critically ill patients, demonstrating excellence in clinical skills and patient management.
Unit Highlights
- Location: Dallas, TX
- Unit: Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
- Number of Beds: 16
- Patient Ratios: Estimated 1:2
- Type of Equipment: All ICU equipment including ventilators, NXStage, Arctic Sun, GE Cardiac Output monitor
- Documentation System: Meditech
Key Responsibilities
The ICU Registered Nurse will be responsible for:
- Providing comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients.
- Performing assessments and evaluations based on patient acuity and needs.
- Utilizing specialized equipment and conducting procedures such as central line placements, thoracentesis, dialysis catheter placements, cardioversions, and intubations.
- Documenting patient care and outcomes effectively in the Meditech system.
Qualifications
- Required Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years ICU experience
- BLS certification
- ACLS certification
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience with CRRT and Hypothermia protocol
- Meditech experience
- Licensure: Active RN license in Texas (temporary licenses are not accepted)
Dress Code
- Scrub Color: Royal Blue
- Nail Policy: Clean and healthy; no artificial nails, gel, or next-gen nails
- Hair: Neat and clean; extreme styles or colors are not permitted; hair must be pulled back if shoulder length or longer
- Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible; body art that cannot be covered will be addressed individually
- Piercings: Visible piercings other than ears are prohibited
Additional Information
- Assignments will be made according to acuity and skills.
- Flexible scheduling will be discussed during the interview process.
- Floating to other units may occur as needed.
