Unit Information

This position primarily involves working in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with opportunities to float to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

• Manager Name: Greg Bishoff
• Bed Count: 82 (48 ICU, 34 PCU) across 3 separate floors
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Patient Ratios: ICU 1:1, 1:2; PCU 1:3
• Electronic Medical Record System: EPIC
• Charge Nurse: Yes, one per floor
• Nurse Aides: 2 per floor

Scheduling Requirements

• Weekend Requirement:
  • Days: Saturdays and Sundays
  • Nights: Fridays and Saturdays
  • Every other weekend
• Holidays: Rotated with permanent staff

Care Team Information

• Tele/Monitor Technicians: Available only in PCU
• Intravenous Drips: All ICU level drips
• Ventilator Support: Available in ICU
• In-house Hospitalist or Intensivist: Available during days, with night coverage via virtual ICU and ARNP for procedures overnight
• IV Team: Yes
• Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7
• Pharmacy: Available 24/7

Shift Information

• Shifts:
  • Days: 7 AM - 7 PM
  • Nights: 7 PM - 7 AM
• Floating: Eligible to float between all ICUs and PCUs within multiple locations in the region
• Orientation: Planned for 1 week with an educator, with a maximum of 2 shifts

Patient Population

The patient population includes various critical care diagnoses.

Additional Notes

• No ventilator support in the PCU
• PCU drips include cardizem, nitro, insulin, and heparin. No pressors.
• Travelers are not required to take IABP or CRRT unless they have that specific experience.
• Minimum requirement is 2 years of experience in the specialty.

Cancellation Policy

The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to 4 shifts for assignments of 13 weeks, and up to 3 shifts for assignments of less than 13 weeks.
