Position Overview
Join our dynamic team in a high-volume Emergency Department known for its commitment to excellence in patient care. We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in trauma, stroke care, and emergency services.
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 101
- Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
- Staffing: Techs available, unit clerks on both days and nights
- Type of Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
- Documentation System: Cerner
- Scheduling: Every other weekend; flexibility in scheduling is required
- Floating Policy: No floating outside of the ED, but must be open to float within the ED
- Patient Experience: Emphasis on AIDET principles, respectful behavior, and consistent communication throughout patient visits
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years as a nurse with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting in a Level II trauma center or comparable environment
- Skills: Teamwork mentality, ability to coach and provide feedback in real time, and flexibility to work across all areas of the ED
- Certifications Required:
- ACLS prior to starting
- BLS prior to starting
- PALS prior to starting
- TNCC prior to starting
- CPI prior to starting
- NIHSS prior to starting
- ENPC within 90 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Two years of nursing experience in a high-volume emergency department with over 100,000 visits
- Previous experience with HCA Healthcare preferred
Dress Code
Navy scrubs are required
