Position Overview

Join our dynamic team in a high-volume Emergency Department known for its commitment to excellence in patient care. We are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in trauma, stroke care, and emergency services.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 101
• Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
• Staffing: Techs available, unit clerks on both days and nights
• Type of Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
• Documentation System: Cerner
• Scheduling: Every other weekend; flexibility in scheduling is required
• Floating Policy: No floating outside of the ED, but must be open to float within the ED
• Patient Experience: Emphasis on AIDET principles, respectful behavior, and consistent communication throughout patient visits

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years as a nurse with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting in a Level II trauma center or comparable environment
• Skills: Teamwork mentality, ability to coach and provide feedback in real time, and flexibility to work across all areas of the ED
• Certifications Required:
  • ACLS prior to starting
  • BLS prior to starting
  • PALS prior to starting
  • TNCC prior to starting
  • CPI prior to starting
  • NIHSS prior to starting
  • ENPC within 90 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications

• Two years of nursing experience in a high-volume emergency department with over 100,000 visits
• Previous experience with HCA Healthcare preferred

Navy scrubs are required
