Position Overview

This position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery, offering an exciting opportunity to work with high-risk obstetric patients. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills and a commitment to providing exceptional care in a vibrant team environment.

Work is based in a Women's Hospital situated in a dynamic area.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 23
• Day Shift Staff: 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC), 6 Registered Nurses, 2 Certified Surgical Technologists (CST), 3 Operating Room Nurses, 1 Secretary
• Night Shift Staff: 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC), 4-6 Registered Nurses, 1 Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), 1 Secretary
• Patient Ratios: 2:1
• Equipment: Advanced medical equipment, EMR system: CPN/Meditech
• Floating Requirement: Within Women's Services – Postpartum/Antepartum

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Intermediate), AWHONN (All certifications must be included in the application packet)
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of travel experience in high-risk OB Labor and Delivery settings
• Essential Skills: NRP certification, intermediate fetal monitoring, BLS, ACLS
• Preferred Experience: OBED experience, high-risk/high-volume experience in Labor and Delivery

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role include providing comprehensive care for high-risk obstetric patients, managing magnesium and insulin drips, and participating in surgical procedures as needed (circulate and scrub). The RN will collaborate with team members to ensure the highest standards of patient care and safety.
