Description
Position Overview
Join our dynamic Emergency Room team as we provide high-quality emergency care to our patients. This position requires a dedicated professional ready to handle a variety of critical situations in a fast-paced environment.
Unit Information
- Unit: Emergency Room
- Number of Beds: 28 beds, including 4 fast track and 2 trauma bays
- Patient Ratios: 1 Nurse to 4 Patients
Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients effectively in a high-volume, high-acuity environment.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including hospitalists and intensivists available 24/7.
- Utilize a Cerner electronic medical record system for patient documentation.
- Administer medications and treatments as per protocols and physician orders.
- Provide emergency interventions and manage trauma care as necessary.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an Emergency Room setting preferred, with a focus on high-volume and high-acuity cases.
- Certifications: Current ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications required. TNCC certification preferred.
- Education: BSN is not required, but candidates must possess a valid nursing license.
Working Conditions
- Schedule: 12-hour shifts, with variable start times for day, mid, and night shifts. Weekend rotation required every other week.
- Orientation: Floor-specific orientation will include 2-3 shifts.
- Additional Notes: Candidates may be required to take trauma patients based on their experience. Commitment to teamwork and improving team dynamics is essential.

- Pharmacy and RT Services: Available 24/7.
