Description
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery unit. This is a seasonal contract role with a focus on delivering exceptional care to our patients. The ideal candidate will possess strong nursing experience in Labor and Delivery and be equipped with essential certifications.
Unit Information
- Location: North Austin, TX
- Number of Beds: 32
- Number of Staff: 150
- Patient Ratios: 1:2
- Type of Staff:
- Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1 co-charge nurse, RNs to maintain 1:1 or 1:2 ratio
- Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 1 co-charge nurse, RNs to maintain 1:1 or 1:2 ratio
- Equipment Used: Novii, JADA, Fetal Pillow, IUPC, FSE, Toco, US
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
- Permanent Positions Available: Yes
Position Details
- Shift: Night shifts, with alternating weekends
- Call Requirements: No call required
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must have the following:
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP
- Experience with Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM)
- 2+ years of nursing experience in Labor and Delivery
- Competency in SVE and C-Section circulation
Preferred qualifications include:
- Competency in internal monitor placement
- Previous experience in a Level IV unit (high volume)
- Previous assignments within the healthcare system
Typical Procedures
- Spontaneous Vaginal Deliveries (SVD)
- Cerclages
- C-Sections
- Trial of Labor After Cesarean (TOLAC)
Ideal Candidate Profile
The best candidate will be a team player with a positive attitude, adaptable to the dynamic and fast-paced environment of Labor and Delivery.
Dress Code
- Scrub Color: Navy blue
- Acceptable Attire: Solid blue, black, or grey sweatshirts (t-shirts are not acceptable)

All staff members are required to adhere to the attendance policy and maintain high standards of care and professionalism.
