Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in Independence, MO. This position will focus on providing high-quality patient care in a telemetry unit with a strong emphasis on critical assessment and management of patients.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 36
• Patient Ratios: 1:3 AM, 1:4 PM or 1:4 AM, 1:5 PM (with patient care techs)
• Staffing: Primarily RN-based care, with secretaries available from 7 AM to 7 PM
• Equipment Used: BiPAP, Heated High-Flow Nasal Cannulas, Alaris IV pumps, Kangaroo Feeding Pumps
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Floating Policy: PRN staff float once per week, FT/PT staff float based on a rotation schedule
• Patient Experience Requirements: Bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and daily leadership rounds

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Advanced assessment and critical thinking skills
• Experience in managing vasoactive drips
• Experience with central line or PICC line placements preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

Dress Code

Required uniform includes charcoal grey scrub tops with charcoal grey or black scrub bottoms, along with black or charcoal grey jackets.

• New cardiac monitors have been installed for improved patient monitoring

Schedule

This position has a guaranteed 48 hours per week, starting on December 14th. The schedule involves rotating weekends, with full-time staff working 36 hours per week.
