ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

This position is for a Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit that focuses on providing specialized nursing care for critically ill neuro patients. The unit operates within a newly established, state-of-the-art, 12-bed ICU.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with conditions such as traumatic brain injury, aneurysm, status epilepticus, stroke, and other critical neurological pathologies.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing necessary interventions.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive care.
• Maintain current knowledge of critical care practices and protocols.
• Utilize strong critical thinking and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.

Job Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) License in New York State
• Minimum of two (2) years of RN experience in an ICU or acute care setting
• Experience in telemetry required

Required Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from the American Heart Association
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Behavioral Characteristics

• Strong critical thinking and communication skills
• Ability to remain organized and current with knowledge in critical care
