Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Med-Surg unit. This is an exciting opportunity for RNs looking to enhance their clinical skills and deliver high-quality patient care in a dynamic environment.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Med-Surg
• Number of Beds: 24
• Staffing:
  • Day Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses (RNs or LPNs), 2 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), 1 unit clerk
  • Night Shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses (RNs or LPNs), 2 PCTs
• Patient Ratios: 6:1
• Equipment Used:
  • BLS, NIHSS
  • Alaris IV pumps
  • Hoyer lifts and Sarah Steady
  • Feeding pumps
  • Welch Allyn Vital Sign Machines
  • iMobile
  • Vein Finder
• EMR System: Meditech

Work Schedule

• Shift: 7 PM to 7 AM
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) within a 4-week period

Qualifications

• Required Skills:
  • Prior inpatient acute care experience
  • Basic dysrhythmias knowledge
• Preferred Skills:
  • Experience working in a trauma center

Key Responsibilities

• Perform various clinical tasks including:
  • PIV insertion and management
  • Central line management and removal
  • Foley catheter insertion and management
  • NG tube insertion and management
  • Drain management and removal
  • Wound care and ostomy management
  • Continuous bladder irrigation
  • Chest tube management
  • EKG monitoring

• Scrub Color: Royal blue
• Pants: Black pants are acceptable
