Job Description

We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team in the Progressive Care Unit. This role involves providing specialized care to patients with moderate physiologic instability requiring monitoring and support.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 18
• Patient Ratios: 1:4-5
• Staffing: Includes 2 Patient Care Technicians and 1 Unit Secretary
• Equipment: Alaris pumps, Kangaroo pump, Pyxis, computers in every room
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling, including 3 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Floating Policy: Travelers first, then PRN staff, based on the date last floated

Patient Care Responsibilities

The Progressive Care Unit specializes in caring for patients with cardiac and pulmonary conditions. Responsibilities include:

• Administering oxygen therapy (Nasal Cannula, BIPAP/CPAP, AirVo)
• Performing vital signs monitoring every 4 hours
• Conducting continuous cardiac monitoring
• Blood glucose monitoring every 4 hours
• Neurological monitoring as needed using NIHSS
• Implementing nursing interventions approximately every 3-4 hours

Qualifications

• Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of relevant nursing experience

Dress Code

Required uniform is royal blue.
