Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Med-Surg unit. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment while adhering to best practices and standards of care.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Medical-Surgical
• Number of Beds: 24
• Staffing:
  • Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 4 RNs or LPNs, 2 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), 1 Unit Clerk
  • Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 4 RNs or LPNs, 2 PCTs
• Patient Ratios: 6:1
• Equipment: BLS, NIHSS, Alaris IV pumps, Welch Allyn Vital Sign Machines, and more
• EMR: Meditech

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

• Providing direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Managing and caring for patients with various medical conditions.
• Performing routine procedures, including but not limited to:
• PIV insertion, management, and removal
• Central line management and removal
• Foley catheter insertion and management
• NG tube management
• Wound care and ostomy management
• Chest tube management
• Continuous bladder irrigation
• EKGs
• Collaborating effectively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must possess:

• Prior inpatient acute care experience.
• Basic dysrhythmia knowledge.
• Preferred: Experience working in a trauma center.

Additional Information

• Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs are required; black pants are acceptable.
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday) in a 4-week period are mandatory.
