Job Description

We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a MedSurg unit. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a commitment to patient care, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

General Information

• Unit Name: 3 North MedSurg
• Number of Beds: 49
• Patient Ratios: 1:5
• Unit Staffing:
  • 1 Unit Secretary
  • 5 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) on Days
  • 3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) on Nights
• Type of Equipment: Welch Allen/Dynamap VS machines, bladder scanner, Hoyer lift, Sara Steady, wound vacs
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: 12-hour shifts with 3 weekend shifts within a 4-week schedule period
• Floating Policy: Adheres to facility policy
• Patient Experience Requirements: Personal connections with patients, AIDET, bedside shift report, hourly rounding

Qualifications

• Licensure: Must hold a valid Missouri RN license
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Required Skills:
  • IV insertion and management
  • Foley catheters and external urinary catheters
  • Wound care and post-operative care
  • Tracheostomy care
  • Nasogastric (NG) tube and feeding tube management

Dress Code

The required uniform consists of:

• Navy blue scrub top
• Navy or black scrub pant
• Undershirt and/or scrub jacket (if worn, must be navy, white, or black; no sweatshirts or track jackets allowed)

Work Schedule

This position is a night shift role, typically working from 7 PM to 7 AM, with a guaranteed minimum of 48 hours.
