Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a telemetry unit. This position requires a strong foundation in cardiac rhythm interpretation, respiratory care, and the administration of cardiac drips.

Unit Information

Unit: Telemetry 3 South

• Number of Beds: 34 private rooms
• Staffing:
  • Day Shift: Charge Nurse, 7 RNs, 3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs), Unit Clerk
  • Night Shift: Charge Nurse, 7 RNs, 3 PCTs
• Patient Ratios: 5:1
• Type of Equipment: GE Telemetry, Pyxis, Welch Allen Vital Sign Monitors
• EMR: Meditech

Qualifications

• Required Skills:
  • Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation
  • Respiratory experience, including advanced airways and oxygen management
  • Administration of non-titrated cardiac drips
• Preferred Certifications: ACLS/ALS

Responsibilities

As a Registered Nurse in this unit, you will be responsible for:

• Performing various procedures, including stress tests, heart catheterization, and CABG.
• Conducting paracentesis, thoracentesis, and chest tube management.

Additional Information

• Cerifications Required: CPR
• Floating Areas: Med Surg, Med Surg Telemetry, and ED holding for this level of care
• Dress Code: Navy scrubs required
• Weekend Expectations: Every other weekend scheduling
