Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse (RN) on the Med Surg 3E unit. The role involves providing care during the night shift, with scheduled work hours from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM and rotating weekends.

Unit Information

• Unit Location: 3 East
• Facility: Located in a city within the region
• Floor: 3
• Number of Beds: 28
• Patient Ratios: 5:1 to 6:1
• Number of Staff: 32 Full-Time Equivalents (FTEs)
• Staffing Structure:
  • Day Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, 3 PCTs
  • Night Shift: 1 Charge Nurse, 6 RNs, 3 PCTs

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care in a Med Surg environment. Duties include but are not limited to:

• Monitoring patient conditions and vital signs
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed
• Documenting patient care and progress using the EMR system (Meditech)
• Collaborating with healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care
• Assisting with patient mobility and personal care

Qualifications

• Required:
  • BLS Certification
  • Hospital Experience
• Preferred:
  • 3 or more years of nursing experience
  • Experience in Epilepsy Care

This unit is equipped with advanced technology and medical equipment, including Video EEG, Hoyer Lift, Bladder Scanner, Vital Sign Machine, and Telemetry monitoring. The team encourages a culture of feedback and teamwork, fostering an environment where staff members feel empowered and supported.

Dress Code

Employees are required to wear navy blue scrubs with the organization's logo. Professional attire is expected, and the following items are not acceptable:

• Jeans
• Casual footwear
