Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (M/S RN) with expertise in oncology and heavy sickle cell management to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional patient care and support in a step-down unit. Candidates with chemotherapy certification are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in a step-down unit, primarily focusing on oncology and sickle cell disease management.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and assess patient conditions to ensure optimal care.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on health management and disease prevention.
• Document care provided accurately and timely in patient records.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar specialty and setting.
• Active Nursing License, verified through Nursys.
• Completion of a skills checklist relevant to the Medical-Surgical specialty.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and chemotherapy, if applicable.
• Experience working in a similar size facility preferred.
