Description
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our dedicated team in a general ICU setting. This position provides an opportunity to work in a level 2 trauma center, offering specialized care to critically ill patients.
Unit Information
- Number of Beds: 29
- Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2 (occasionally 1:3 with patients ready to leave ICU)
- Equipment: Aleris pumps, GE monitors, Edwards EV 1000 and CCO, Primaflex CRRT, Cardiohelp ECMO
- Documentation System: Meditech
Shift Requirements
- Schedule: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Patient Experience Requirements
- Vent management
- ABG interpretation
- Vasoactive drip titration
- Hemodynamic monitoring
Procedures Performed on Unit
- Intubations
- Central line placement
- Bronchoscopy
- Bedside tracheostomy and PEG tube placement
Qualifications
- Required Certifications: RN License, ACLS, BLS
- Preferred Certifications: TNCC, NIH, ABLS
- Minimum Experience: 2 years in an ICU setting

Pros
Management is willing to work with RTO pretty easily. GE machines are easy to use and proximity of ER with CT is set up nicely.
Cons
Communication with management is sometimes awful. Especially with contract extensions. HR also did not pay me for a day due to a missed punch. Instead of contacting me about issues, they just didnt pay me and it took two months to resolve that missing pay.
