ICU Registered Nurse
Location
Boise, Idaho
Contract Length
13 weeks
Schedule
- 12-hour night shifts
- 36 hours per week
- Weekend coverage required every other weekend or half of weekends
- Holiday coverage may be required
- No call or standby
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- 2 years of ICU experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous travel experience preferred
- Experience in a similar-size or larger ICU and hospital preferred
Unit Details
- Adult ICU with combined SICU and MICU staffing
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1 and 1:2
- Common patient types include CABG, CVA, subarachnoid hemorrhage, intracerebral hemorrhage, GI bleed, DKA, STEMI, septic shock, overdose, respiratory failure, neuro surgery, and open hearts
- Travelers are not expected to have experience with CRRT, ECMO, or balloon pump
- RN monitors and reads strips
- Charge nurse and resource nurse support available
- Hospitalist and intensivist in house
- Respiratory therapy available 24/7
Floating
- May float to other ICUs in the Valley
- May also float outside ICU as a 1:1 sitter
Additional Notes
- No scrub color requirement
- Unit orientation is 1–2 shifts
- Radius rule applies: candidates must live outside 50 miles from the facility
