Position Overview
The Registered Nurse in the Progressive Care unit is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients with cardiac conditions. The unit consists of 28 beds, focusing on both Progressive Care and Intermediate Care for cardiac populations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver patient-centered care to a diverse population with cardiac issues, including STEMI and NSTEMI patients.
- Monitor and manage life-threatening conditions, ensuring timely interventions.
- Administer cardiac medications and drips, including Milrinone, Dobutamine, and Pressors.
- Maintain a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3-4 to ensure effective monitoring and quality of care.
- May be assigned to telemetry beds, providing care for patients with lower acuity levels.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Progressive Care Unit or similar environment.
- Documented experience in working with cardiac populations.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
