Job Summary

The Operating Room Nurse provides critical patient care within the operating room setting, utilizing scientific judgment and critical thinking to anticipate and plan for patient needs. As a vital member of the surgical team, the RN collaborates with Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, and other personnel to ensure optimal patient outcomes in accordance with state regulations, AORN standards, and established hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room by ensuring necessary supplies and instruments are available.
• Scrub and assist surgeons during surgical procedures, utilizing aseptic techniques.
• Update physician preference cards and communicate effectively with surgical teams.
• Manage timeliness of surgical cases and coordinate with families regarding patient care.
• Supervise and mentor support staff providing patient care in the operating room.
• Float between multiple locations as needed to support surgical services.

Qualifications

• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an operating room setting.
• Experience with Cerner EMR system.
• Knowledge and experience in various service lines, including General, Urology, Spine, GYN, Ortho, Plastics, Breast, and Robotics.

Additional Requirements

AHCA Fingerprinting clearance is required prior to the start of employment.

Location: Multiple locations within the region, including various facilities in city, state.
