Description
Position Description
The traveler will be scheduled according to facility policy and is expected to work every other weekend and holidays in rotation with hospital employees.

Unit Specifications
- Number of Beds: 29
- Patient Ratios: 1:6
- Unit Staffing: Registered Nurses (RNs)
- Equipment: i-mobile phones for each care team member, mobile computer workstations on wheels, mobilab for lab drawers, Alaris IV pumps
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Scheduling Requirements: 3 - 12 hour shifts per week, including every other weekend
- Floating Policy: Travelers are the first to float and may be assigned to the emergency department for inpatient holds or work in the telemetry monitoring room or progressive care unit (PCU).
Patient Experience Requirements
- Bedside shift report for patient handoff
- Utilization of AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You)
- RN/MD rounding
Qualifications
- Minimum of 30 months of nursing experience (RN or LPN)
- One previous successful travel nursing assignment
- Proficiency in telemetry patient care, including those post cardiac procedures such as PCI, PPM, ICD, and ablations
- Strong time management skills, including developing plans of care each shift
- Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and ancillary departments
- Experience in discharge planning and patient education
Advanced Skills Required
- Phlebotomy
- Administering respiratory treatments (inhalers and nebulizers) outside of ICU
- Foley catheter care and maintenance following nurse-driven protocols for removal
- Telemetry and Post Cath Lab patient management
- Management of cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Dobutamine)
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification
Dress Code
Required uniform: Navy attire
