Position Description

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced RN to join a dynamic Emergency Department team. The position is a travel role with a guaranteed 48 hours per week and overtime available after 48 hours.

General Information

Location: Asheville, NC

• Unit Name: Emergency Department
• Number of Beds: 101
• Typical Patient Ratios: 4:1; up to 7:1 on behavioral holds
• Type of Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
• Documentation System: Cerner

Orientation and Training

• 4-hour hospital orientation followed by an 8-hour shift on the floor
• Certain certifications are required prior to hire:
• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS
• TNCC
• CPI
• NIHSS
• ENPC (to be obtained within 90 days of hire)

Scheduling Requirements

• Every other weekend is required.
• Flexible scheduling to meet departmental needs; block scheduling is not available.
• Open to floating within various sections of the Emergency Department.

Patient Care Expectations

• Adhere to patient experience standards, including AIDET principles.
• Maintain respectful behavior while communicating with patients.
• Ensure patient information boards are updated regularly throughout visits.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a nurse, with at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting.
• Experience in a Level 2 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center preferred.
• Team-oriented mindset with the capability to coach and provide real-time feedback.
• Ability to work flexibly in all areas of the Emergency Department.

Dress Code

The required uniform for nurses is navy scrubs. Additional guidelines may apply based on specific roles within the unit.
