Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg

Unit Highlights

Location: Weatherford, TX

• Unit: 2 South (610)
• Classification: RN – Med/Tele (ACLS REQUIRED)

Position Details

• Assignment Length: 13 weeks
• Shift/Workdays: Rotating Weekends
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Call Requirements: None

Required Qualifications

• Active RN License in Texas (Temporary licenses are not accepted)
• Compact RN License – must be active
• BLS Certification Required
• ACLS Certification Required
• Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg or Telemetry specialty experience
• Minimum of 2 years of hospital experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Meditech Documentation System

Key Responsibilities

• Providing comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Med/Surg unit
• Initiating and maintaining IV therapy, NG tubes, Foley catheters, and dressing changes
• Assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs)
• Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and nursing staff
• Promoting and demonstrating clinical competence in nursing practice
• Overseeing support staff as designated within the department

Patient Care Standards

The RN will focus on:

• Creating a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
• Continuously acquiring specialized knowledge and skills necessary to provide high-quality nursing care.
• Demonstrating and validating competence in nursing practice.
• Ensuring clinical practices align with established policies and standards.
• Managing communications effectively, including AIDET, bedside reporting, and service recovery.

Dress Code

• Scrub Color: Navy Blue with facility embroidery (Proof of Purchase REQUIRED)
• Nail Policy: Clean and healthy, with no artificial nails
• Hair: Neat and clean; must be pulled back if shoulder-length or longer
• Tattoos: Should be covered whenever possible
• Piercings: Visible piercings other than earrings are prohibited

Unit Guidelines

• Floating policy: Staff may be required to float as needed.
• Attendance Policy: Company-wide attendance policy is applicable.
