Position Overview

The Cath Lab Technologist plays a crucial role in the cardiac cath lab, ensuring efficient operations and exceptional patient care. This position requires a competent individual with prior experience in the Cath Lab, capable of scrubbing and monitoring during interventional procedures.

Job Details

• Unit Type: Cardiac Cath Lab
• Shift Length: 8 or 10 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
• Years of Experience Required: 2 years
• Average Cases per Day: 10-15 cases
• Number of Suites/Labs: 4

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and monitor procedures in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
• Assist in performing various cardiac interventions and procedures.
• Collaborate with cardiologists and healthcare professionals for optimal patient care.
• Maintain high standards of safety and sanitation within the lab.

Qualifications

• Required Certifications:
  • BLS Certification
  • ACLS Certification
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) via CCI
• Experience: Must have competence and prior experience in the Cath Lab.

Work Environment

• Shifts are scheduled by the supervisor, with options for 4x10 or 5x8 hour workweeks.
• Weeknight, weekend, and holiday on-call requirements are present, with a response time of 30 minutes.
• Occasional floating to other procedural areas based on census may be required.
• Scrubs are provided, with a specified dress code.

Orientation and Training

• Unit-specific orientation includes 3 shifts of training for new employees.

Patient Populations

This role involves working with patients in interventional cardiology, structural heart, and peripheral vascular categories. Note that electrophysiology (EP) and interventional radiology (IR) are separate departments.
