Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Telemetry Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The Telemetry unit is focused on the monitoring and treatment of patients with complex medical issues, particularly post-surgical cases. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical knowledge, critical thinking skills, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a telemetry setting.
• Monitor patients' vital signs and report changes in their condition.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Assist in post-surgical recovery and care.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on health management and care plans.
• Float to sister facility as necessary.

Shift Details

• Shift: Nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirements: Required to work weekends in rotation with core staff
• Holiday Requirements: Yes

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a telemetry or related unit.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• Successful completion of a dysrhythmia exam prior to contract signing.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Telemetry
• Number of Beds: 16
• Common Procedures: MS/Tele, post-surgical care (e.g., appendectomy, cholecystectomy).
• Telemonitoring available; ventilator care not provided.
• Pharmacy and Respiratory Therapy available 24/7.

Orientation and Training

A 2-day floor-specific orientation will be provided. A pass/fail simulation lab assessment is required on the first day of orientation, and study guides will be provided.

Location

Position available in Mesa, AZ. Candidates must adhere to a 50-mile radius rule and may not have been actively employed in a full-time, part-time, or PRN capacity with any affiliated facilities in the past year.
