Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to patients on a telemetry unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients' cardiac status through continuous telemetry.
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 4-5:1.
• Manage drips including Heparin, Lasix, Amiodarone, and Cardizem without titration.
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy for patient care related to breathing treatments.
• Perform dysrhythmia interpretation and respond to rhythm changes.
• Participate in unit activities and contribute to a positive team environment.

Unit Information

The unit consists of 29 private rooms, focusing on a range of patient diagnoses, including renal, gastrointestinal, sepsis, and mental health issues.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN License.
• 2 years of experience in telemetry or critical care nursing.
• Current certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), and ECG competency.
• Ability to manage patient care independently during night shifts.

Shift Details

This position involves nights with self-scheduling available. There is a requirement for 3 weekend shifts per schedule cycle and participation in holiday rotations.

Additional Requirements

• Candidates must pass a dysrhythmia exam within 48 hours of receiving the job offer (with a maximum of 2 attempts).
• A PASS/FAIL simulation lab is included on the first day of orientation; failure will result in dismissal and a 6-month DNU.
• Applicants must not reside within 50 miles of the facility and must provide a valid driver's license upon submission.

Orientation and Support

Comprehensive orientation is provided, including two shifts with a preceptor to ensure readiness for the role.
