Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our MS/Tele Float unit. The ideal candidate will have experience in telemetry and the ability to float across various units, providing high-quality patient care.

Shift Details

• Shift: Nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirements: 6-9 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule
• Holiday Requirements: May be asked to participate in holiday rotation

Unit Information

The MS/Tele Float unit provides care to a diverse patient population, including those with cardiac, neuro, oncology, and general medical needs. Nurses may be required to float into other units such as ICU, PCU/Stepdown, and various specialty areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the MS/Tele Float unit.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry findings.
• Administer medications and titrate drips, including Heparin.
• Assume responsibilities for patients across various acuity levels as necessary.
• Participate in unit-specific orientation and training.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in MS-Tele nursing; prior neuro experience is preferred.
• Certifications: Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA).
• Ability to work flexible hours and manage patient care assignments effectively.

Nurse-Patient Ratios

The typical nurse-patient ratio is 1:5-6, based on patient acuity levels.

Additional Information

• Designated charge nurse available on each unit; charge nurses may take a small patient assignment if needed.
• Patient population includes adults and geriatric patients with diverse medical backgrounds.
• Orientation includes 1-2 days with a preceptor for hands-on training.
• Scrub color/dress code is flexible; any color is acceptable.
