ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. This position will involve working in a fast-paced environment with critically ill patients and requires a high level of clinical skill and expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to ICU patients, ensuring the highest standards of care.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, recognizing changes and acting accordingly.
• Administer medications, titrate drips, and manage ventilated patients.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Float to PCU and med-surg units as needed.
• Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
• Experience with ventilated patients and cath lab recovery is preferred.
• Proficiency in using clinical equipment, including vents, CPAP/BiPAP, and high flow systems.

Unit Information

The ICU unit consists of 10 beds, with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1. In normal circumstances, the patient care unit (PCU) operates with a ratio of 3:1. During peak times, ratios may adjust to a maximum of 3:1 in the ICU and 4:1 in the PCU.

Schedule

• Shifts: 12 hours, primarily on nights.
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend.
• Holiday Requirements: Rotate with permanent staff.

Additional Information

This position requires a commitment to excellence in patient care and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Orientation will be provided for new hires, focusing on unit-specific practices and protocols.
