Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Labor and Delivery team. This high-risk unit offers couplet care, where nurses are expected to provide comprehensive care from the initial stages of labor through postpartum care.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Nights
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Schedule: Every other weekend, rotates with staff on holidays

Responsibilities

• Must be comfortable circulating for C-sections and managing all aspects of labor and delivery.
• Provide care for a range of patients including those with preterm labor, bleeding, inductions, cesarean sections, and hypertension.
• Titrate drips, with common drips including Pitocin.
• Participate in charge nurse duties and may provide relief for breaks.
• Float to multiple locations if required, with a response time of 30 minutes if on call.
• Read and interpret EKG strips as necessary.

• Number of Labor & Delivery Beds: 10
• Number of OR Suites for C-Sections: 2
• Number of Triage Beds: 6 (3 OB-ED and 3 antepartum testing)
• Number of Postpartum Beds: 12
• Monthly Births: 140-165
• Staffing Ratio: 1:3-4 couplets, 1:1-2 in Labor and Delivery, with 1:1-3 antepartums.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), Advanced Fetal Monitoring. STABLE certification is preferred.
• Ability to float to Mother-Baby unit as needed.

Additional Information

Scrubs will be provided for the duration of the assignment. The position may require occasional floating to other facilities within the region.
