Job Description

An exciting opportunity awaits for a Registered Nurse to start a career on a specialized neurological unit. This unit provides an excellent environment to learn about various neurological diseases while utilizing nursing and critical thinking skills. The role involves collaborating with an interdisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment, providing care for patients with conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, and Guillain-Barré Syndrome.

Facility Overview

As a Joint Commission accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center and the only Level 4 Epilepsy Monitoring Unit in the region, the unit sees a wide range of acute and complex patients. The team works diligently to evaluate, diagnose, and treat seizures using state-of-the-art continuous video EEG technology, ensuring the highest standard of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in a specialized neurological unit.
• Utilize critical thinking skills to assess and manage patient conditions effectively.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient-centered care plans.
• Monitor patients’ telemetry and neurological status, ensuring timely interventions.
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and health management.

Qualifications

• Current RN License in New York.
• Two years of nursing experience required, with telemetry experience essential.
• BLS certification.
• NIHSS certification.
