Description
Job Description
The CT Technologist, under the direction of the Radiology Manager and the Radiologist, is responsible for performing computerized Tomography procedures, including both routine and invasive examinations. The role involves the operation of advanced imaging equipment, notably the Toshiba Aquilon 64 slice scanner, and requires the accurate marking and labeling of all films.
Key Responsibilities
- Position and instruct patients during imaging procedures.
- Operate specialized imaging equipment and determine technical exposure factors.
- Ensure safe, quality patient care is consistently provided.
- Take call as required for departmental needs.
Work Schedule
Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, with a total of 40 hours per week.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved AMA school of Radiology.
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy is required.
- Two years of diagnostic imaging experience is desirable.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds from floor to wheelchair or waist.
- Ability to move 40 pounds a distance of six feet.
- Ability to reach overhead while lifting 25 pounds.
- Ability to transfer patients safely between stretcher and bed.
- Ability to push a loaded stretcher weighing up to 150 pounds over a distance of 300 feet.
- Good stamina and manual dexterity are essential for operating delicate equipment.
Skills
- Strong computer skills are necessary.
- Accurate judgment and decision-making abilities relevant to radiology practices.
- Commitment to providing quality customer service and patient care in line with established protocols.
Certifications Required
- BLS/BCLS certification.
- ARRT (R) certification.
- ARRT (CT) certification.
