Registered Nurse - Medical / Surgical (RN)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Medical/Surgical team in a dynamic inpatient observation unit. This fast-paced environment requires adaptability to changing patient acuity and the possibility of floating to other areas of specialty as needed.

Unit Information

• 28-bed Inpatient Observation Unit
• Handles a range of medical and trauma overflow beds
• Care for patients with varying levels of acuity, including lower to higher acuity patients and mid holds

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to all patients in the observation unit
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes in acuity
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Document and communicate patient information accurately and promptly
• Assist with patient admissions, discharges, and transfers
• Participate in departmental initiatives and quality improvement projects

Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical/surgical nursing in an acute care setting
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required; TNCC preferred
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and manage shifting priorities
