Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for our Medical/Surgical Inpatient Observation Unit. This role involves working in a fast-paced environment that accommodates varying patient acuity and conditions. The nurse may be required to float to other areas of clinical competency as needed.

Unit Information

The position is for a 28-bed Inpatient Observation Unit, which is located near the Emergency Department. The unit caters to medical beds, trauma overflow beds, and holds for patients with lower to higher acuity levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse patient population.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions effectively.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Demonstrate flexibility by floating to other areas as needed.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in an acute care setting, preferably in a similar specialty.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required.
• Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification preferred.
