Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of 2 years' experience, including at least 1 travel assignment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care and telemetry nursing, prepared to work with a variety of patient types in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to patients including those with conditions such as Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Respiratory Distress, Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS), Atrial Fibrillation with Rapid Ventricular Response (A-fib RVR), Diabetes Mellitus (DM), and Post-Cath patients.
- Administer blood products and utilize BiPAP as needed.
- Monitor patients and manage femoral arterial sheaths; travelers will not pull sheaths.
- Assist with surgical patients, including those undergoing vascular, abdominal, and gastrointestinal procedures.
- Manage intravenous drips such as Diltiazem, Amiodarone, Lasix, Nitro, and Heparin.
- Perform wound care including dressing changes and operate chest tubes and wound vacs.
- Support both ICU and Telemetry patients consistently.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience required.
- Prior completion of at least 1 travel assignment.
- Experience with patient types and procedures listed above is essential.
- Required Certifications:
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Preferred: Experience with arterial lines, Impella, and/or Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP).
Work Environment
This position is within a 226-bed non-profit community hospital located in a vibrant area. The facility has 11 ICU beds and provides care to a diverse patient population. Nurses will float to ICU level or below throughout the hospital as needed.
Schedule
- Shift Times: 1900-0730 and 0700-1930
- Every other weekend rotation required.
Additional Information
Scrubs: Professional attire in any color is permitted.
Electronic Medical Record (EMR) System: EPIC will be utilized for patient documentation.
