General Information
- Beds/Procedural Areas: 2 Cath Labs; 2 Hybrid Peripheral/OR
- Travelers must live 100+ miles from the facility.
- Permanent staff must wait 1 full year before returning as a traveler.
Patient Types
Traveler will be a member of the Stroke Team. ICU experience is required for the RN position.

Required Certifications
- RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Required Education
Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing. Registered Nurse (RN) — South Dakota Board of Nursing.
Required Skills
- ICU experience is a MUST — position will be a member of the Neuro IR Stroke Team
- Endotracheal ventilation, including basic management and understanding of ventilators
- Tracheostomy patients, including ventilation through stoma
- Vasoactive and sedation drips
- Safe use of paralytics
- Set-up, troubleshooting, and use of arterial lines
- External Ventricular Drains (EVDs), including Camino ICP monitoring
- External pacemakers
- Chest tubes
- Swan/Cordis central line catheter use and monitoring
- Recovery and monitoring of arterial puncture sites
Support on the Unit
- CNA: N/A
- Charge Nurse: Available Monday-Friday, 0600-1630
- Phlebotomy: N/A
- IV/VAT Team: N/A

Orientation
4 days of orientation with 10-hour shifts.
Scheduling
- Shift Options:
- 4 × 10-hour shifts: 0700-1730 or 0800-1830
- 8-hour shifts: 0700-1530 or 0730-1600 on call days
- Call: 1 week on, 2 weeks off
