General Information

• Unit Name: 3rd, Neuro Med/Surg
• Number of Beds: 20
• Patient Ratios: 6:1
• Unit Staffing Description: Tech support on day and night shifts; Unit Secretary from 7 AM to 7 PM.
• Type of Equipment: IV Pumps, Telemetry, SCDs, Continuous Pulse Oximetry Machines, Feeding Pumps, PCA, EKG Machines, Bladder Scanners, iMobile Communication Technology.
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week; 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule.
• Floating Policy: Contract labor is the first to float; rotation policy applied for multiple contract labor staff scheduled.
• Patient Experience Requirements: Provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members, engaging them in bedside shift reports and care plans.

Qualifications

• Requested Skill Set: Med/Surg experience, ability to prioritize care, multitasking, IV starts, basic wound care, maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes.
• Certifications Required: Active RN license, BLS certification
• Advanced Skills Needed: Not applicable
• Procedures Performed on Unit: Not applicable

Dress Code

Navy scrubs required for all staff members (tops and bottoms).
