Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Medical Surgical/Neuro unit. This position entails providing excellent care to patients with a variety of medical and surgical needs while ensuring their comfort and well-being.

Unit Specifics

• Number of Beds: 20
• Patient Ratios: 6:1
• Unit Staffing: Tech support available on both day and night shifts, with unit secretary coverage from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Type of Equipment: IV Pumps, Telemetry, SCDs, Continuous Pulse Oximetry Machines, Feeding Pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanners, iMobile communication technology.
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week; 2 weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule.
• Floating Policy: Contract labor will be floated first; staff will float based on a rotational system when multiple contract labor staff are scheduled.

Patient Experience Expectations

The RN is expected to provide attentive and compassionate care, ensuring personal connections with patients and including them and their family members in the care plan.

Qualifications

• Required Skills:
  • Medical/Surgical experience
  • Ability to prioritize patient care
  • Multitasking skills
  • IV insertion proficiency
  • Basic wound care knowledge
  • Maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• Certifications:
  • Active RN license
  • BLS certification

Dress Code

Required uniform includes navy scrubs for both tops and bottoms.
