Position Overview

The Level II Registered Nurse provides competent care and assumes an expanded role within the clinical setting. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, this role focuses on delivering high-quality patient care based on established standards and practices, while also engaging in service excellence, professional development, and research.

Schedule

Availability to work 36 or 48 hours per week, with blocked weekends. Depending on unit needs, the RN may also be required to work during weekends, holidays, and may be subject to on-call duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver competent nursing care to patients in accordance with established standards.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, utilizing telemetry experience.
• Engage in professional development and continuous learning.
• Participate in evidence-based practice and research initiatives.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities as needed.
• Act as a preceptor and mentor for new nursing staff.
• Serve on committees to improve patient care services and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

• Current New York State Registered Nurse (NYS RN) license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Medical-Surgical setting.
• Telemetry experience is required.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
