Position Description

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 101
• Patient Ratios: Typically 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 on ED behavioral holds
• Staffing: Available techs working in cardiac monitoring and processing areas, with unit clerks on duty
• Equipment: Baxter pumps, GE monitors
• Documentation System: Cerner
• Schedule Requirements: Every other weekend required; flexible scheduling according to department needs
• Floating Policy: Must be open to floating within all sections of the emergency department

Patient Experience

We prioritize outstanding patient experiences through respectful behavior, clear communication, and consistent updates with patients throughout their visit. All staff are expected to apply AIDET principles during patient interactions.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in an Emergency Room setting
• Teamwork: Strong collaboration skills and ability to provide real-time feedback
• Flexibility: Ability to adapt and work in various areas within the emergency department

Certifications Required

• ACLS
• BLS
• PALS
• TNCC
• CPI
• NIHSS
• ENPC
