Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated L&D Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a dynamic labor and delivery environment. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in all phases of labor and postpartum care, ensuring the highest standard of patient care and support.

Job Details

• Unit: L&D/PP/MB
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Common Diagnoses: Hypertension, preeclampsia, preterm labor, TOLAC

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in labor and postpartum settings
• Required Certifications:
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
  • BLS (AHA)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
• Titration Skills: Experience with titrating oxytocin and managing drips

Work Environment

• Unit Capacity:
  • 12 L&D beds
  • 1 OR suite for C-sections
  • 1 Triage bed
  • 12 Postpartum beds
• Patient Volume: Average of 70 births per month
• Support Staff: Nurse aides and surgical techs are available
• Nurse Techs: RNs are required to read their own telemetry strips (GE)

Scheduling

• Night shifts with weekend requirements (4-5 shifts in a 6-week period)
• On-call requirement: 1 shift of the nurse’s choice within a 6-week block
• Self-scheduling allowed within unit needs
• Floating among units is expected, providing helping hands where needed
• Holiday coverage is required

Orientation

All new hires will participate in unit-specific orientation and are required to be in-state for the duration of the orientation week, even if some training components are remote.
