Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) to join our team for night shifts, providing critical care in a fast-paced environment.

Shift Details

• Shift: 7 PM - 7 AM
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Holiday Rotation: Rotating on a block schedule

Unit Overview

The Emergency Room is equipped with:

• 8 bed capacity, including 2 Trauma bays
• Level 4 trauma designation
• Typical Staffing Ratios: 2 RNs per shift, 1 LVN from 11 AM to 11 PM, and a Unit Secretary

Responsibilities

The ER RN will be responsible for:

• Providing high-quality care to patients in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient assessment and treatment.
• Monitoring patients' conditions and making critical decisions as required.
• Documenting patient care and maintaining accurate medical records using the Cerner charting system.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing
• Experience: At least 1 year of experience in an emergency room setting
• Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) required at time of submission
• License: Must hold a Texas or Multistate nursing license at time of submission

Additional Requirements

• Scrub Colors: Any color
• Vaccination: Required copies of vaccination must be provided

The Emergency Room sees an average of 850 patients per month, providing essential and timely care.
