Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to fulfill the role of Operating Room Supervisor. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and have extensive clinical experience, particularly in the operating room setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily Operations: Oversee surgical schedules, room turnover, and patient flow to ensure efficient operations. May provide direct patient care as needed.
• Staff Management: Handle staffing, shift scheduling, training, performance evaluations, and mentorship for operating room nurses and surgical technicians.
• Compliance & Safety: Enforce hospital policies, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Resource Coordination: Monitor and manage inventory, surgical instruments, and equipment procurement in coordination with central processing.
• Interdepartmental Liaison: Communicate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and pre/post-operative units to resolve issues and maintain high standards of patient care.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: Registered Nurse (RN) with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a degree in a related healthcare field.
• Experience: 3 to 5 years of clinical operating room experience required; prior supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.
• Licenses & Certifications: Active, unencumbered RN license and Basic Life Support (BLS) / Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Skills: Strong leadership, crisis management, communication skills, and working knowledge of surgical procedures and sterile processing techniques.

Work Schedule

Shifts are primarily Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with options for four 10-hour days per week. Flexibility in scheduling is available with the opportunity for some on-call duties related to labor and delivery.

Additional Information

Housing options include nearby hotels, rental properties in a neighboring town, and a shared duplex available at a monthly cost. Scrubs will be provided, and the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems in use are CPSI-Evident and PeriGen for obstetrics.
