Position Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team. This role involves providing care for neonates and their families in a fast-paced environment.

General Information

• Unit Specifics:
  • Number of Beds: 9 NICU beds
  • Patient Ratios: NICU - 1:1, 1:2, 1:3; Nursery - 1:6
  • Type of Equipment: Giraffe isolettes, panda warmers, cribs, CPAP, vents
  • Documentation System: Meditech and CPN
• Scheduling Requirements: 3-12 hour shifts per week and one call shift per month.
• Floating Policy: May float to post-partum or nursery as needed.

Patient Experience Requirements

Our nurses are dedicated to ensuring a positive patient experience for both neonates and their families by providing compassionate and effective care during their stay.

Hiring Profile

• Requested Skill Set:
  • Ability to labor, deliver, and recover patients
  • Assist with newborn care following delivery
  • Circulate and recover cesarean section patients
  • Provide care for high-risk patients in the perinatal unit
• Must Have: Capability to stabilize and care for all facets of the neonate from admission until discharge.
• Advanced Skills Needed: None
• Procedures Performed on Unit: Central line placement, intubations
• Certifications Required: NRP, BLS, STABLE (preferred)
• Dress Code: Navy blue uniform

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 2 years of experience in a NICU setting is preferred.
