Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Float Pool team during daytime hours. This role is integral to providing quality nursing care across multiple units within our organization. The ideal candidate will support the mission and values of our health ministry while ensuring exceptional patient care and safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care to patients within assigned units, executing orders from the responsible provider.
• Document comprehensive patient care and develop care plans for each shift.
• Engage in feedback processes to enhance nursing practice and patient outcomes.
• Ensure effective communication of patient information through bedside shift reports, multidisciplinary rounds, and hourly rounding.
• Achieve unit-specific competencies and complete required learning modules within specified timeframes.
• Foster a culture of well-being, aiming to reduce alarm fatigue and promote a positive atmosphere.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff by adhering to established protocols.
• Identify and assist in resolving patient safety issues, encouraging a Just Culture environment.
• Participate in daily unit safety huddles to address and prioritize safety concerns.
• Stay informed on unit-based nurse-sensitive indicators and partake in quality initiatives to enhance patient care.
• Collaborate with nursing colleagues across different departments to share expertise.
• Mentor and serve as a preceptor for new nursing staff.
• Engage in self-assessment, establish performance goals, and seek professional development opportunities.
• Ensure patient education materials are culturally competent.
• Complete required certifications, including Basic Life Support and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.
• Contribute to readiness for regulatory surveys and engage in employee feedback processes.

Job Requirements

• Current New Hampshire RN license is required.
• Basic Life Support certification is necessary.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program is preferred.
• Basic Dysrhythmia knowledge is preferred or must be obtained during orientation.
• Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training is preferred or must be completed during orientation.

Shift Information

Days: 7 AM - 7 PM. Holiday coverage is required.

Minimum Years of Experience

At least 3 years of nursing experience is required.
