Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated ICU Registered Nurse with a passion for providing high-quality patient care in a challenging and rewarding environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an Intensive Care Unit and be committed to delivering excellent nursing care to critically ill patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the ICU.
• Maintain monitoring and interpretation of patients' vital signs and cardiac rhythms.
• Administer medications and intravenous therapies as prescribed, including titrating drips for cardiac management, insulin, and sedation.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting care as necessary.
• Assist in various procedures and interventions as required.
• Ensure compliance with infection control and safety protocols.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions and care plans.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 2 years of ICU nursing experience.
• Current certifications in ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS.
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
• Number of Beds: 33 beds, average daily census is 16.
• Nurse to Patient Ratios: 1:2-3 for adults.
• Common Diagnoses: Trauma, cardiac conditions, overdose/substance abuse, sepsis, post-operative cases, stroke, renal and heart failure, respiratory distress.
• Nurse Aides are available based on census needs.
• RNs are required to operate and troubleshoot respiratory equipment as necessary.

Shifts and Scheduling

• Shift Length: 12 hours.
• Shifts: Nights only, 1830-0630.
• Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend.
• Mandatory minimum of 2 holidays within the contract period.
• 1 shift of unit-specific orientation provided.

Additional Information

Candidates within a 50-mile radius are preferred, and those working full-time, part-time, or PRN at related facilities are ineligible. Adherence to the fingernail policy (removal of artificial nails) is mandatory, and RNs must successfully pass a practical exam during orientation. Additional time-off requests must be limited to 7 days or fewer during the 13-week contract.
