Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 20
• Patient Ratios: 6:1
• Unit Staffing: Tech support available on both day and night shifts; Unit secretary from 7 AM to 7 PM.
• Type of Equipment: IV Pumps, Telemetry, SCDs, Continuous Pulse Ox Machines, Feeding Pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, iMobile communication technology.
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week; 2 weekends (4 shifts) within a 4-week schedule.
• Floating Policy: Contract labor is the first to float; floating is based on rotation when multiple contract labor staff are scheduled.
• Patient Experience Requirements: Expected to provide attentive and compassionate care to patients and family members, including bedside shift report and involvement of patients and families in care planning.

Hospital Specifics

• Certifications: Comprehensive Stroke Center, ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center, Certified Chest Pain Center.

Qualifications

• Required Skills: Med/Surg experience, ability to prioritize care, multitask, start IVs, basic wound care, maintenance of surgical drains, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes.
• Licenses/Certifications: Active RN License, BLS Certification.
• Advanced Skills Needed: N/A

Dress Code

Required uniform: Navy scrubs, tops and bottoms.
