Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced ICU Registered Nurse who is dedicated to delivering high-quality care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have the ability to manage complex medical conditions and demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care and teamwork.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
• Unit Size: 24 beds
• Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2 for ICU level acuity; 1:3-4 for PCU level acuity
• Common Patient Diagnoses: Sepsis, COPD, Covid, pneumonia, withdrawal, strokes post-TNK administration, CRRT, IABP, Impella, PA catheters, and immediate post-operative care for cardiac patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to ICU patients and their families.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, responding quickly to changes in their health status.
• Administer medications, manage drips, and utilize various medical equipment as required.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding health conditions and care plans.
• Participate in training sessions and educational modules as required.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting.
• Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and a valid WA or Compact License.
• Skills: Experience with CCRT, IABP, immediate open heart recovery, and the management of Swans.
• Additional Skills: CRRN and PCCN certifications preferred but not required.

Work Schedule

The position involves working night shifts, with a focus on weekends, particularly Sundays. Shifts are typically scheduled six weeks in advance with a self-scheduling approach. Rotation with permanent staff for holiday coverage is expected.

Additional Information

• Support Staff: Charge nurse and resource nurse present on every shift; nurse aides available with a 1:12 ratio.
• Clinical Support: Hospitalists and Intensivists present 24/7, with dedicated respiratory therapy available around the clock.
• Floating Requirements: Expectation to float between floors as needed, including critical care units and emergency response.
• Dress Code: Professional color scrubs required.
