Job Details

We are seeking a dedicated Labor and Delivery Nurse for the Family Birthing Center. This position is night shift with a guaranteed 36 hours per week.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: L&D (Labor and Delivery)
• Number of Beds: 13 L&D / 9 Mother-Baby
• Operating Rooms: 2
• Patient Ratios: 1:2 Labor, 1:4 Postpartum
• Common Diagnoses: Standard labor, High risk
• Monthly Births: 90-100

Shift Information

• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Shift Time: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
• Weekend Requirement: Every 3rd weekend for days, every other weekend for nights
• Holiday Requirement: Must work 2 of the major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's) with possible scheduling requests considered

Responsibilities

• Circulate C-sections as necessary
• Triage OB patients who are 20 weeks or greater; direct those less than 20 weeks to the emergency room for evaluation
• Provide care to laboring patients and their newborns in the mother-baby unit
• Assist OB physicians and all necessary anesthesia care 24/7

Qualifications

• Years of Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery
• Required Certifications:
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (AHA)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring

Additional Information

• EMR System: Cerner
• Orientation: 2-3 days based on skill set
• IV and Respiratory Teams: Available as needed
• Pharmacy: 24/7 support available
• Floating: First to float to Mother-Baby or level 1 nursery if experienced
