Overview

This position is for a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in a healthcare setting, focusing on delivering high-quality respiratory care to patients across various service lines.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 854
• Number of Staff: 120
• Staffing Breakdown:
  • Day Shift: 15-20 RRTs for Adult service lines, and 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Peds service lines
  • Night Shift: 12-16 RRTs for Adult service lines, and 3-4 RRTs for NICU/Peds service lines
• Patient Ratios: 10 - 25 patients per therapist
• Equipment Used:
  • GE R860 Adult vents
  • Draeger Infant/Peds vents
  • Newport HT70 transport vent
  • V60 Non-invasive device
  • Vapotherm and Comfort Flow high flow oxygen devices
• Electronic Medical Record: Cerner

Qualifications

• Must Have:
  • Valid North Carolina Respiratory License
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential
  • Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
• Preferred:
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification

Duties and Responsibilities

The RRT will be responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of respiratory therapy treatments according to all applicable standards and regulations. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Administering respiratory therapy treatments and medications
• Monitoring patient responses to treatments
• Educating patients and families regarding respiratory care and disease management
• Collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to achieve optimal patient outcomes

Work Schedule

The position requires availability for varying weekends, with at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule.
