Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for our Emergency Department. This position involves providing exceptional patient care and working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care in the Emergency Department.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort while ensuring adherence to hospital protocols.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to formulate, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Utilize appropriate medical equipment and technology for patient monitoring.
• Document patient information and care provided accurately using the Cerner documentation system.
• Train and supervise nursing staff, including providing real-time feedback.
• Comply with all hospital policies and procedures, including attendance and punctuality.

Qualifications

• Must possess at least 2 years of nursing experience, including a minimum of 1 year in an emergency room setting.
• Certification in ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS, and ENPC is required before the start date.
• Experience in a Level 2 trauma center or comprehensive stroke center is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and provide coaching and feedback to peers.
• Flexibility to work in various areas within the Emergency Department as needed.

Orientation and Training

New hires will participate in a 4-hour hospital orientation followed by an 8-hour shift on the floor for hands-on training.

Uniform and Appearance

All nurses are required to wear navy scrubs. Specific colors are designated for other positions within the department.

Work Environment

The Emergency Department typically operates with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 4:1, which may increase for specialty care. Staff are expected to manage various patient needs, including behavioral health holds.
