Emergency Room Nurse (RN)

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Emergency Room Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in emergency nursing and be committed to delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

• Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years in an Emergency Room setting
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holidays: Rotating with core staff

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Emergency Room (ER)
• Number of Treatment Areas: 14, with plans for expansion
• Average Patients per Day: 75, with peak up to 140
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1 to 4
• Electronic Medical Record System: Cerner
• Common Diagnoses: Pediatric, stroke, orthopedic, abdominal pain, and trauma

Qualifications

• Active RN license
• ACLS Certification
• BLS Certification
• NIHSS Certification
• PALS Certification
• NRP and TNCC preferred
• Travel experience is a plus

Additional Notes

• All nurses will complete a basic EKG competency exam during orientation.
• Candidates may be required to float to Marian ER as needed.
• Orientation consists of 3 shifts on the unit.

Work Environment

The Emergency Room operates 24/7 with a robust support system, including Respiratory Therapy and a dedicated nursing team that includes ER techs and security personnel when necessary. Nurses will also be responsible for monitoring and interpreting EKG strips as needed.
